The purpose of this Emergency Preparedness Self-Assessment Tool is to assess specific levels of emergency preparedness within a healthcare facility or community. The information obtained through this self-assessment process is designed to identify strengths, gaps, vulnerabilities and opportunities for enhancement and to ensure a safe and prepared environment. The assessment is written consistent with the E-Tags developed by CMS and found in the new Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness Regulations that will be enforced beginning November 15, 2017.
